JW co-worker lost everything in flood... elders are nowhere in sight
by Alfred inrecently, a flash flood hit co-worker's neighborhood when heavy rains combined with blocked storm drains caused river water and mud to deviate and head straight for the lower homes in his gated community.
about 18 homes were affected in this neighborhood and there was absolutely no time to react.
before my jw co-worker could do anything, he had at least 3 feet of water and mud gushing through his entire one-story home losing everything except some pictures that were hanging on the wall.

57% of all publishers pioneered in April
by hoser inwe had a letter read this afternoon after the watchtower study that said we had 54,408 auxillary pioneers in april and with the regular pioneers it totaled 64,855 in full time preaching in april.
57% of the publishers.. so my guess is that the co will come down hard on any congregation that didn't meet those numbers next april.. i think the 30 hour thing had it's desired effect.. hoser.

Attention Lurkers- Consider the effectiveness of your lifesaving work
by stuckinamovement inhypothetical scenario.
you are a city manager in a major metropolitan city with a population of 3,000,000.. .
if the governing body was truly convinced themselves of the impending disaster and the fact that the end is imminent would they not focus their efforts in spreading the message through effective means such as telephone, television, internet, social networks etc?

As I've said in other related threads, the GB's overriding priorities are ASSET ENHANCEMENT and PRESERVATION ... the only lives they're really interested in saving are those of its corporations!

Did Jesus preach from door-to-door with sidekick Apostle (W. 15-12-2010)
by AnthonyMorrisXIII in'hello, i'm just calling on you and your neighbours to talk to you about why there's so much trouble in the world'.. "rather than feel frustrated or discouraged because jehovah's day seems delayed, we should be glad that there is still time for us.

How ludicrous... just shows their contempt for the collective intelligence of their flock. Do they have any idea how costly and prized such hand-copied scrolls were? How could the "unlettered and ordinary" disciples afford them, much less read and understand them? How many of them existed in private hands away from the synagogue? And how did the "householder" know they weren't bogus copies concocted by the guys at their door? What percentage of the population-- including the disciples -- could read and write in the first place?

Outrageous Omission Blood
by Marvin Shilmer inoutrageous omission blood.
today i uploaded an article i have worked on for some time.
it expounds and illustrates a revolting habit watchtower has of refraining from wide distribution of life-saving information clearly and promptly.

The Society here has a dog by its proverbial ears (Prov. 26:17). It seems they're keenly intent on making their anti-abstention policies go away somehow; but if they overtly "free the dog" it will bite them mightily in the posterior, provoking in all porbability an avalanche of law suits and adverse publicity.
These policies came into effect when the Society had far fewer assets; it seems most if not all of their current policies, from the 1985 change in baptismal vows, to the creation of satellite corporations, the institutionalized pretense that local congregations are autonomous, etc. have but one agenda: asset preservation.
Marvin, heartfelt thanks for calling this to our attention; it's a thread that deserved to be revisited regularly and bumped up to the top of the queue.

"I wouldn't mind doing something like this if I could just offer a week, maybe 2 at the most." What?!! Is that all you can afford to offer on Jehovah's altar? What a piker... looks like a blemished lamb to me!

Man finds $17,000 cash and turns it in ... JW?
by wannabefree indespite this man's facial hair and no mention of religion, he must be one of jehovah's witnesses, cuz surely no worldly person would be so honest.. serioulsy, he credits his parents.
it always irritated me that whenever a witness does something good they have to throw in "as one of jehovah's witnesses ...." as though they were implying they would otherwise not have done the right thing.. http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/chibrknews-man-finds-17000and-turns-it-in-20110609,0,6950954.story.

wannabe... I'm willing to bet the guy isn't a JW; if your curiosity warrants it, why not look up this Robert Adams or Greg Jarrett, the reporter who did the story? Here's are a couple of instructive links for the naive to consider: http://www.holysmoke.org/cos/almost-as-bad.htm and http://www.perjureddeposition.com/2011/03/ron-nelson-construction-montana.html

Well done, as usual, Blondie; thanks. It's scary the lengths they go to orchestrate every aspect of the JW's behavior; it's a rare "kool-aid" WT study that doesn't focus entirely on behavior modfication/manipulation.
